Brass Coin Dust Collection System (F1/F2 Ultra/Generic Fiber)
Choose options
This brass dust collector system fits directly onto the baseplate of the XTOOL F1 / F2 ULTRA, and will also fit generic fiber laser baseplates with typical M5 threaded holes with 25mm on center spacing.
The outlet hose port fits the black xTool flexible hose (press fit), and there is a secondary smaller port for a generic 2" (~50mm) inner diameter flexible hose (to be secured with a hose clamp). On the left side there is a sliding shutter to adjust the airspeed through the system depending on the vacuum source.
This brass dust collection system is featured in the F2 Ultra brass embossing video above.
One of the biggest issues surrounding brass coin embossing is the management of the fine brass dust particles. If you process the brass coins on your baseplate with no additional dust collection system the fine brass dust has a tendency to spread and settle everywhere including all over your machine, lens, and rear exhaust fan (probably also in your lungs). It makes an incredible mess and the metallic particles may find their way into your F1 / F2 Ultra exhaust fan bearings and will eventually destroy them.
This brass dust collection system aims to solve this problem as the coin is enclosed in the box. A fume filtration system, dust cyclone, shop vacuum, or some other suction source is connected to the output port. The negative pressure ensures all of the brass dust is carried through the hose or contained inside of the box. From testing, little to no brass dust escapes. Your rear exhaust fan, lens, machine, and lungs will thank you.
If you connect a generic smoke and fume collector to the output port, the brass dust will very quickly foul your filters. This is the second major problem as new filter packs can be very costly for some smoke and fume filter models. In the above video I show you some ways you can minimize the brass dust from clogging your filter packs.
As seen in the video above - If you are using a shop vacuum you may want to consider trying to use a cyclone dust collector in the middle or equip your shop vacuum with some kind of HEPA filter. You do not want the brass dust to blow out of your shop vacuum exhaust and become airborne. Alternatively you can install an inline filter between the dust collection box and your vacuum source. Scroll down for suggested links to the cyclone dust collector and the inline filter boxes.
Please note that while this system has the holes to mount to a generic fiber laser baseplate, it does not include the M5 x 10 socket head cap screws for these applications. It does include the M4 x 10 socket head cap screws to mount to the xTool F1 and F2 Ultra.
What is included:
- Brass Dust Collection System
- M4 hardware to mount to xTool F1 / F2 Ultra
What is not included:
- Hoses
- Hose Clamps
- Hardware to mount to generic fiber laser (M5 x 10 socket head cap screws)
