This 10mm rod upgrade for the y-axis is compatible with both the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE and KE models.

The Creality Ender 3 V3 SE and KE models are excellent value 3D printers - however, there are some quality control issues that many users experience and need to be addressed for an easier printing experience and improved printer output.

One such issue is the instability of the print bed. Not all machines have this problem, but some SE and KE users report poor bearing and rod tolerances, or premature wear, leading to an unstable print bed on the y-axis.

Personally, my issue appeared to be a slight bend in the original 8mm rods which might have been pitching the print bed at the ends of its travel. This seemed to be the cause of a very sloped auto bed level mesh.

After installing the 10mm rod upgrade the bed mesh improved significantly. The added benefit or greater bearing surface area and a stiffer set of rods will overall increase the print bed stability on the Ender 3 V3 SE and KE models.

The bearing holders are printed with HP Multijet Fusion Technology (MJF) in Nylon PA12 material. They are very robust and durable, and the threaded holes are brass heat set inserts. These parts are BLACK. The colors in the product renders are to make the part stand out.

What is included:

  • QTY: 2 10mm Linear Rods
  • QTY: 2 Bearing Holders
  • Hardware Kit

What is not included:

*Note that the original bearings I personally used were from a brand called "Reliabot." They no longer have that size bearing on Amazon so the link above now points to another seller I have not tested so I cannot testify to their quality. I will try and update with alternative sources but you can use the link above if you want to try them.

Why are the bearings not included? I could not find a suitable source for the bearings at a good price to pass on cost savings to you. They are standard parts - so there was no sense in me purchasing them at nearly the same price you can buy them and then having to mark them up to an even higher cost. The size is LM10UU whose outer dimensions are 19mm OD and 29mm length.

Great upgrade

Great upgrade. Easy to install. Don’t be surprised at the noise from the bearings at first. The noise level will be heavily dependent on which ones you get. Also works with the Yoopai stabilizer arm mod from Amazon.

Installed before my first print

I was looking at videos about the Ender 3 V3 KE and saw several recommendations to install linear rails. Those videos called for adapter kits or printed adapters. This rail kit is much simpler than adding the extra cost and time to do linear rails. Bed wobble eliminated! There were a few things I ran into, though, but not anything that caused problems. The first was that one of the 10mm rods had some small scratches and I could feel a few tiny burrs. Some 1000 grit wet/dry sandpaper took care of that. The 2nd was that the socket that the front end of one of the rods slid into was just a little bit big. A single wrap of scotch tape tightened it right up. Which leads to the 3rd thing. I purchased my printer in July of 2025, and in the year since the installation video was published, Creality eliminated the screws to secure the front of the rods.

I don't see any improvements on the prints after this replacement

I don't see any improvements on the prints after this replacement.I am disappointed with my overall purchase as it was a very expensive item for only basic parts, incomplete and nothing prints any different from before. Idont recommend this to anyone, it seemed to me that it would be a significant mechanical improvement with certain improved quality of the overall process. Se la vi...I still give 5stars for the possibility for some unnoticed future improved performance, and for the print quality of the rail sliders, the bearings I installed fit perfectly.
